About Us

The Mackinaw Valley Karate & Fitness training facility is a member of the Illinois Traditional Karate Organization. Both are under the supervision of Executive Director and Chief Instructor Brian Evans 6th Dan. He has been training in the art of JKA style Shotokan karate since 1978 and is the Illinois state contact for the World Traditional Karate Organization based in New York. Mr. Evans is also a nationally certified physical fitness coordinator.

We take pride in providing a family friendly atmosphere, offering classes for adults, teens and children. We welcome anyone who wants to learn Karate or take part in our fitness classes, from beginners to those who simply wish to improve and develop their current skills to a much higher level.

Our facility is on Fast Ave. in Mackinaw Illinois across from the Area Buyer's Guide, it features a 1,500 square foot training area, specifically designed to minimize shock and absorb high impact on bones and joints. There’s also a viewing area available for guests and family members who want to observe classes.
